There are two of the most amazing sights on earth that should be witnessed with your beloved one. The first is sitting in the Peninsula hotel top floor bar and watching sunset and darkness fall upon Honk Kong itself. As day turns to night you can take the hand of your beloved one and watch as neon begins to light up probably one of the seven most marvellous views in the world.
The other - is to repeat the enjoyment of sunset but this time by taking the car to go to the top of the Peak. You can find the café and restaurant with the viewing platform where you’ll watch sunset over Kowloon, but this time you should kiss your partner for a long time. Because you will remember it forever.
2. Santa Barbara, California
Marvellous beaches, acclaimed wineries, charming Mediterranean architecture, excellent restaurants, and a general air of laid-back sophistication add up to an alluring place for couples to explore. Parks and gardens are everywhere, probably because the splendid weather encourages everyone to stay outdoors.

3. Schloss Neuschwanstein in Germany
Schloss Neuschwanstein is one of the most romantic, almost Disney-like castles in Germany and a general daytrip from Munich. It was built by King Ludwig II in Schwangau, Bavaria. It is a perfect combination of natural beauty and human creativity. We could say that the Schloss Neuschwanstein is a heaven on earth.
4. Cairo in Egypt
Cairo in Egypt can also be regarded as a paradise on earth especially for the lovers. Pyramids in Giza are one of the many things, which make this city special and interesting. The elegancy and charm, which surrounds this particular city, makes it a perfect spot among the lovers to show their love to each other.
5. Mauritius
Mauritius promises you more than simply the water sports and candlelit dinner. The island can be regarded as a nature’s gift to the couples planning for a Romantic Vacation. The aquariums of marine life are created to give you a feeling of life down under the sea. The remainders of the Dutch fortifications are the sights of history. On the other hand, the colored rock formation created at Chamarel gives an idea, how beautifully the nature has created this island especially for the Romantic couples. The crystal clear water and the white sand will explicate to you the reason why this is the best place for the Romantic couples.
6. Amsterdam in deepest winter
There are few places on earth more romantic than Amsterdam in deepest winter in my opinion. Ancient churches, frozen waterways, snow-heavy skies. It’s a cultural melting pot where you can find romance on every corner. The winter and snows certainly add the topping to a place that already exudes history and you can imagine yourself with your loved one starring in your very own European cinematic romance set against a beautiful and vivid backdrop. With bells tolling from churches at dawn, the shimmering waters of canals everywhere, ancient beautiful architecture, flowers on street corners, this city is most certainly picturesque.
7. Bali in October
This has to be one of the world’s top romantic destinations, the perfect place for couples. I’d point you and your partner straight towards the Bali Cliff resort at the southern tip of the island or Lovina Beach on the northern coast. Either places at this time of the year are quiet whilst the weather remains perfect. If I was to choose the perfect place for a date, to embody the love and romance of my relationship, or even maybe to propose, I’d choose Lovina beach at dawn in an outrigger canoe as the dolphins race past chasing tuna and the sun breaks the horizon. It doesn’t get any more romantic or special than this.
8. Cyprus before Summer
It’s the birthplace of Venus, what more needs to be said about finding love and romance. Stick to the west side of this island around Pathos for perfect sunsets, sun for 360 days a year, remote bays and fresh seafood. Seemingly unexplored valleys, high passes and the sweet scent of pine everywhere, this is a beautiful place. Open the door and breathe, then kiss each other. Deeply. Definitely one of my top romantic destinations of all to find romance in a sunset. Top quality hotels abound and this is essential for many romantic destinations. But the single thing that makes this island romantic for me is the lonely drives by car up into the fresh alpine interior.
9. Alaska Cruise. Ice Hotel
These amazing works of art make a perfect backdrop for any ceremony. They are built completely of solid ice, with sculptures and even bars inside. You can stay the night, or have your wedding inside. But be sure to book ahead, since the waiting list can be quite long.
The only three ice hotels in the world are In Canada, Sweden and Alaska.
10. La Jolla, California
Even the name of this Mediterranean town on the north to San Diego promises romance. La Jolla (pronounced “la HOY-uh”) in Spanish means “the jewel.” This particular gem offers several glittering facets: exclusive shopping, generous dining, lots of arts and cultural attractions and a elegant stretch of beach. The water also induces surfing and swimming. The hilly terrain provides plenty of vantage points for enjoying the view.

11. JAPAN. Fuji Five Lakes Region
This aqueous quintette —Lakes Kawaguchi, Yamanaka, Sai, Shoji and Motosu—lies in a lovely surrounding the northern foot of the country’s highest hill. When in spring and autumn the day arrives that the snow horsecloth just the top of Mount Fuji, it’s the perfect time to visit Japan’s Fuji Five Lakes region. Both peak and lakes, formed in the past by lava flows that dammed up several rivers, are part of serene parklands that attract hiking, meditation and other.

A historic jewel hidden away at the heart of Europe, the Czech Republic packs a lot of punch for such a small country. No bigger than Scotland or South Carolina, it’s crammed with fairytale castles, medieval towns, elegant spa resorts and scenic national parks. And on top of all that, it’s the birthplace of the world’s finest beer.
For a country that’s only been around since 1993, the Czech Republic does a fine job of showcasing an exciting history. Here the past becomes real. Unravel the history of Bohemia and Moravia, the two ancient lands that now make up the modern Czech Republic and you’re unearthing the history of Europe itself.
And when you’ve had your fill of the past, return to Prague, one of the world’s most beautiful and cultured cities, and one of the most exciting with a dynamic music and arts scene. Down the world’s best beer in the brewery towns of Plzen and Ceske Budejovice, and discover the laid-back backpacker scenes in Cesky Krumlov and Telc. Everywhere you go, you’ll meet a forthright people, proud of their heritage, but now confidently taking their place in a modern, united Europe.

1. The Lednice-Valtice area

The complex consists of various chateau buildings, garden structures and decorative sculpture of various styles, set amidst ponds and woods. The Valtice chateau is surrounded by a beautiful natural park dotted with many Romantic structures (“follies”), rare trees and greenhouses with tropical plants.
The area is crisscrossed with a dense network of hiking and biking trails and is perfect for exploring in combination with the surrounding wine country.

2. Prague

For centuries it has been known as Zlata Praha or Golden Prague - a glittering jewel of art and architecture nestling snugly at the heart of Europe. Home to emperors and kings, artists and astronomers, this beautiful and fascinating city has worked its subtle magic on generations of visitors, and lent inspiration to musicians and writers from Mozart to Dvorak and Kafka to Klima. Prague is the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic. Its population is about 1.2 million people. The city is situated along both banks of the Vltava River. The city has traditionally been one of the principal intellectual and artistic centers of central Europe. Its brilliant cultural life declined during the period of Communist rule (1948-89) but experienced a revival with the restoration of democratic government in December 1989. Prague is the political, administrative, financial, and commercial heart of the Czech Republic.
Dating from medieval times, the old center of Prague consists of five sectors. The Old Town, the New Town, and the Josefov (once a Jewish ghetto) are on the eastern bank of the river. Located on the western bank are the Lesser Quarter and the Hradcany, which surround the majestic complex of Hradcany Castle–former residence of the Czech kings and since 1918 the seat of Czechoslovakia’s presidents. The oldest of the bridges spanning the Vltava is the Charles Bridge, begun in 1347. Other noteworthy sights of Prague: Jewish Cemetery, Parisian Street, Wencels Square.

3. KUTNA HORA

It’s hard to imagine today, but in its time this town about 65 km east-south-east of Prague was Bohemia’s most important after Prague. In the late 13th century, silver ore was found in these hills, and a town sprouted up. In 1308, Wenceslas II. imported a-team of Italian minters and established his central Royal Mint here. Today Kutna Hora is a fraction of its old self, but still dressed up in a collection of fine architectural monuments. The historical centre is compact enough to see on foot. Most attractions lie between the central square, Palackeho namesti, and the St Barbara Cathedral in the southwest corner of town.

4. Charles Bridge

The Charles Bridge is Prague’s most familiar monument. Built in 1357, this 520m-long bridge (1770ft) was the only connection between the two halves of Prague for 400 years. Originally, the bridge was bare of ornamentation except for one solitary cross; however, as the Counter Reformation took hold in Bohemia, the bridge eventually gained over 30 Baroque statues. The earliest, erected in 1683, is a bronze statue of martyr St John of Nepomuk who was thrown off the bridge. Craft stalls and buskers along the bridge add to the atmosphere and make it a popular meeting place.

5. Plzen

Plzen (pronounced : Pilzen) is a city in the Czech Republic in western Bohemia, the capital of Plzen Region. With a population of more than 165 000 it is an important cultural, economic, transport, commercial and industrial center, known primarily for the products of Plzener brewery and Skoda works.
Plzen is also considered a center of education. Besides a number of elementary and secondary schools Plzen is the home to the University of West Bohemia and the Medical Faculty of the Charles University.
The eventful history of the city can be seen during the sightseeing of many interesting buildings. The historical city centre, is dominated by the slim tower of the Gothic St. Bartholomew Cathedral. With its height of 102,26 m (335 feet), this tower is the highest church spire in Bohemia.

6. Marianske Lazne

Marianske Lazne is the second-biggest town in the triangle of the West Bohemian spas. It is world-famous due to the results of the treatments and excellent quality of the natural resources. The town is situated in a charming valley surrounded by well-kept green woods. There are around 100 springs of cold ferrite acidulous water of various chemical makeups. The first sources were discovered in the 16th century. The dominant architectural style of the town is Neo-Classical. The Colonnade, built in 1889, is a real architectural jewel. The music and light productions of the contemporary “Singing Fountain” brings an unusual and interesting experience.

7. Karlstejn Castle

Karlstejn Castle is a 45-minute train ride from Prague. The 14th century castle was originally built as a treasury to hold the crown jewels of the Holy Roman Empire. Building was initiated by Charles IV, and like most castles, Karlstejn has seen changes and additions - as well as renovations - over the course of its centuries-long history. While many of the best rooms are off-limits to visitors, the exterior of the castle, as well as the interior guests are given access to, makes this trip memorable.

8. Cesky raj (Bohemian Paradise)

When you go to Cesky raj (Czech paradise), not only Kost castle is worth your attention. The local country is full of majestic castles, mystic chateaus and romantic ruins. The countryside is decorated by green forests, smelly meadows, crystal clear lakes, and well-known stony towns. As a proof that Cesky raj is inhabited for centuries is the amount of traditional architecture still present here. There is plenty of crosses, chapells, sculptures etc.

9. Sumava National Park

Sumava is the Czech Republic’s largest national park, covering an area of 690 sq. km. Together with its neighbouring ridges, Sumava is a part of the so called “The green roof of Europe”, the largest wooded area in Europe after Scandinavia and Russia, which has already been UNESCO heritage listed. It stretches for 125km along the border with Austria and Bavaria. Although wild in nature with its pristine beech and fir massifs, it is also renowned place for its idyllic landscapes and small villages, scattered along the foothills of the mountains, pristine trout-filled rivers, old castles etc. peaceful places, providing pleasant bases for relaxing experiences along the network of tourist routes.

10. Moravian Karst

This is one of the most beautiful and also most visited areas in the Czech Republic. There are extended karst cave systems hidden underground, small sinking rivers pass through some of them. The Moravian Karst belongs to the most important karst areas in Central Europe. Coming here, you will be simply thrilled by the magnificent view and the scenic beauty of the caves. Here, you can find a series of extended karst caves that even have small sinking rivers flowing through it. Moravian Karst and Caves, Brno is located at the distance of 30 kilometers north and northeast of Brno. You can site this wonder at the southwestern part of the Drahan Highlands.

A popularity poll was organized by the private New7Wonders Foundation, with winners announced on July 7, 2007 in Lisbon, Portugal.
Bernard Weber, president of the New7Wonders Foundation, called the voting for the New 7 Wonders of the World, the first worldwide democratic exercise in mankind’s history. In 2007 the foundation has begun a similar contest, called New Seven Wonders of Nature, with nominees solicited through December 31, 2008. The 21 finalists will then be the subject of voting until the summer of 2010.
The origin of the idea of seven wonders of the world dates back to Herodotus (484 BC – 425 BC) and Callimachus (305 BC – 240 BC), who made lists which included the Great Pyramid of Giza, Hanging Gardens of Babylon, Statue of Zeus at Olympia, Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, Mausoleum of Maussollos at Halicarnassus, Colossus of Rhodes and Lighthouse of Alexandria. Only the Great Pyramid of Giza is still standing. The other six were destroyed by earthquake, fire, or other causes.
Organisers stated that the primary goal of the campaign is to foster and encourage global exchange and intercultural appreciation. In addition, what New7Wonders calls “Global Memory” was created, meaning 7 things that everyone worldwide can remember and share. Also New7Wonders wants to use part of the revenue from the contest between the well-known monuments, from future votes, related merchandise, and use of the voters database, to set up, or contribute to, various restoration projects in the world. A goal of New7Wonders has always been “raising awareness about the world’s unique cultural heritage sites.

Chichen Itza, Yucatan, Mexico.

The famous Mayan pyramids of Chichen-Itza are over 1500 years old and are located only 75 miles from Merida. The name Chichen-Itza is a Mayan word: CHI (mouth) CHEN (well) and ITZA (of the Itza tribe). Some believe people were occasionally thrown into the nearby cenote as sacrifices, and those who survived were believed to be seers.
At the entrance to Chichen Itza, there is an informative museum, a dining room, clean restrooms, a few giftshops and vendor stands. If you didn’t bring a hat, it’s a good idea to buy one from one of the vendors outside before you go in. Try to visit Chichen Itza early in the morning or late in the afternoon, as the sun can be punishing at midday. The main attraction is the central pyramid, El Castillo del Serpiente Emplumado, which means “Castle of the Plumed Serpent,” and is pictured at the top. The plumed serpent is a popular deity in various Mesoamerican cultures.
Possibly the best known construction on the site is Kukulcan’s Pyramid. El Castillo (Kukulkan-Quetzalcoatl), a square-based, stepped pyramid that is approximately 75 feet tall. This pyramid was built for astronomical purposes and during the vernal equinox (March 20) and the autumnal equinox (September 21) at about 3 P.M.. the sunlight bathes the western balustrade of the pyramid’s main stairway. This causes seven isosceles triangles to form imitating the body of a serpent 37 yards long that creeps downwards until it joins the huge serpent’s head carved in stone at the bottom of the stairway. Mexican researcher Luis El Arochi calls it “the symbolic descent of Kukulcan” (the feathered serpent), and believes it could have been connected with agricultural rituals. In 1194, Mayapan broke the alliance and subdued Chichen and Uxmal. The city was gradually abandoned.

Christ the Redeemer ,Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Christ Redeemer is a very great wonder of the world. The statue of Jesus Christ represents that Jesus guides and helps us everyday.

Imagine that! A hug of 30 meters from christ the redeemer?
The Statue of Christ the Redeemer, standing 30 metres (98ft) tall and overlooking the city of Rio de Janeiro, is one of the tallest statues in the world. The statue represents Jesus standing with outstretched arms and is one of the most famous symbols of this lively city. Developed by the engineer Heitor da Silva Costa and originally conceived in 1921, construction started in mid-1926 and was completed in 1931. The statue sits on top of Corcovado Mountain (Hunchback Mountain) located in Tijuca National Park, a popular area for picnics and walking. From the statue there are superb views of Sugar Loaf Mountain, downtown Rio de Janeiro and Rio’s beaches. It’s frequently said that God is brazilian. The real truth is unknown, but at least a piece of him is in the Rio de Janeiro statue, christ the redeemer, or in portugese, Christ o Redentor.
The original design of statue of Christ the Redeemer Brazil was done by a Brazilian, named Heitor da Silva Costa. He was also the engineer in charge of the construction. He shared the project with French sculptor Paul Landowski. It was built from 1926 to 1931, with funds raised from donations. There’s a chapel for 150 people on the base of the statue.

Colosseum, Rome, Italy

The Colosseum is probably the most impressive building of the Roman empire. Originally known as the Flavian Amphitheater, it was the largest building of the era. The Colosseum - the greatest amphitheatre of the antiquity - was built in Rome, Italy, about 1920 years ago. It is considered an architectural and engineering wonder, and remains as a standing proof of both the grandeur and the cruelty of the Roman world.
The amphitheatre could hold up to seventy thousand spectators. The tiers of seats were inclined in such a way as to enable people to get a perfect view from wherever they sat. Entry was free for all Roman citizens, but places were divided according to social status, the seats at the top were for the people, the nearer you got to the arena the higher your social status.
After the splendour of imperial times, the Colosseum was abandoned, and in turn it became a fortress for the medieval clans of the city, a source of building materials, a picturesque scenery for painters, a place of Christian worship. Today it is a challenge for the archaeologists and a scenario for events and shows.
The southern side of the Colosseum was felled by an earthquake in 847. Parts of the building - including the marble facade - were used for the construction of later monuments, including the St. Peter’s Basilica.

Great Wall of China, China

It is one of the greatest spectacles of all time.
The great wall of China is undoubtedly the pride of China
and its completely deserved its place in the
Official New 7 Wonders of the World. It is an engineering marvel.

The Great Wall of China, one of the greatest wonders of the world, was enlisted in the World Heritage by UNESCO in 1987. Just like a gigantic dragon, the Great Wall winds up and down across deserts, grasslands, mountains and plateaus, stretching approximately 6,700 kilometers (4,163 miles ) from east to west of China. With a history of more than 2000 years, some of the sections of the great wall are now in ruins or even entirely disappeared. However, it is still one of the most appealing attractions all around the world owing to its architectural grandeur and historical significance.
The Great Wall is the world’s longest human-made structure, stretching over approximately 6,400 km (4,000 miles) from Shanhaiguan in the east to Lop Nur in the west, along an arc that roughly delineates the southern edge of Inner Mongolia, but stretches to over 6,700 km (4,160 miles) in total. It is also the largest human-made structure ever built in terms of surface area and mass. At its peak the Ming Wall was guarded by more than one million men. It has been estimated that somewhere in the range of 2 to 3 million Chinese died as part of the centuries-long project of building the wall.

Machu Picchu , Aguas Calientes, Peru

Machu Picchu is the most wonderful place
you can ever go…. It takes your breath away!

The ruins of Machu Picchu, rediscovered in 1911 by Yale archaeologist Hiram Bingham, are one of the most beautiful and enigmatic ancient sites in the world. While the Inca people certainly used the Andean mountain top (9060 feet elevation), erecting many hundreds of stone structures from the early 1400’s, legends and myths indicate that Machu Picchu (meaning ‘Old Peak’ in the Quechua language) was revered as a sacred place from a far earlier time. Whatever its origins, the Inca turned the site into a small (5 square miles) but extraordinary city. Invisible from below and completely self-contained, surrounded by agricultural terraces sufficient to feed the population, and watered by natural springs, Machu Picchu seems to have been utilized by the Inca as a secret ceremonial city. Two thousand feet above the rumbling Urubamba river, the cloud shrouded ruins have palaces, baths, temples, storage rooms and some 150 houses, all in a remarkable state of preservation. These structures, carved from the gray granite of the mountain top are wonders of both architectural and aesthetic genius. Many of the building blocks weigh 50 tons or more yet are so precisely sculpted and fitted together with such exactitude that the mortarless joints will not permit the insertion of even a thin knife blade. Little is known of the social or religious use of the site during Inca times. The skeletal remains of ten females to one male had led to the casual assumption that the site may have been a sanctuary for the training of priestesses and /or brides for the Inca nobility. However, subsequent osteological examination of the bones revealed an equal number of male bones, thereby indicating that Machu Picchu was not exclusively a temple or dwelling place of women.
Machu Picchu stands 2,430 m above sea-level, in the middle of a tropical mountain forest, in an extraordinarily beautiful setting. It was probably the most amazing urban creation of the Inca Empire at its height; its giant walls, terraces and ramps seem as if they have been cut naturally in the continuous rock escarpments. The natural setting, on the eastern slopes of the Andes, encompasses the upper Amazon basin with its rich diversity of flora and fauna.

Petra , Jordan

Petra was first established sometime around the 6th century BC, by the Nabataean Arabs, a nomadic tribe who settled in the area and laid the foundations of a commercial empire that extended into Syria. Despite successive attempts by the Seleucid king Antigonus, the Roman emperor Pompey and Herod the Great to bring Petra under the control of their respective empires, Petra remained largely in Nabataean hands until around 100AD, when the Romans took over. It was still inhabited during the Byzantine period, when the former Roman empire moved its focus east to Constantinople, but declined in importance thereafter. The Crusaders constructed a fort there in the 12th century, but soon withdrew, leaving Petra to the local people until the early 19th century, when it was visited by the Swiss explorer Johann Ludwig Burckhardt.

Taj Mahal, Agra, India

The Taj Mahal is a great symbol of love

The Taj is the most beautiful monument built by the Mughals, the Muslim rulers of India. Taj Mahal is built entirely of white marble. Its stunning architectural beauty is beyond adequate description, particularly at dawn and sunset. The Taj seems to glow in the light of the full moon. On a foggy morning, the visitors experience the Taj as if suspended when viewed from across the Jamuna river.
Taj Mahal was built by a Muslim, Emperor Shah Jahan (died 1666 C.E.) in the memory of his dear wife and queen Mumtaz Mahal at Agra, India. It is an “elegy in marble” or some say an expression of a “dream.” Taj Mahal (meaning Crown Palace) is a Mausoleum that houses the grave of queen Mumtaz Mahal at the lower chamber. The grave of Shah Jahan was added to it later. The queen’s real name was Arjumand Banu. In the tradition of the Mughals, important ladies of the royal family were given another name at their marriage or at some other significant event in their lives, and that new name was commonly used by the public. Shah Jahan’s real name was Shahab-ud-din, and he was known as Prince Khurram before ascending to the throne in 1628.

Magic Mountain Hotel

Magic Mountain Hotel in the Huilo Huilo reserve, Chile, has a waterfall cascading down its sides — and the interior is just as strange. In Southern Chile there is not that many true four star hotels and above. Well, we found one. The Magic Mountain Hotel in the heart of the Huilo Huilo nature reserve. The architecture, combined with the forest setting, makes this truly a magical mountain. Full four star international service, in such a spectacular location, sets the Magic Mountain Hotel apart from all the other hotels we have visited in Southern Chile. The realy funny thing is that the Magic Mountain hotel you see in the photo is possibly the least spectacular thing going on around the Huilo Huilo nature reserve in Southern Chile. Huilo Huilo (sounds like Willow Willow) is more of region than a single town. It includes one of the largest privately owned natural reserves in Chile along with several nearby towns, lakes, and a volcano with year around snowboarding and skiing, and the river Fuy that is famous for its class 3-5 white water rafting and kayaking. The name sake of the region is the Huilo Huilo falls (salto del Huilo Huilo ). There is also a smaller, but no less spectacular falls Salto de la Leona (Lion falls). The Lake Pirihueico borders Argentina, and daily car transport ferry connects the international highway to Argentina. The Most of the land surrounding the lake is also part of the Huilo Huilo reserve.

The Capsule Hotel

Lose yourself in your own love bubble — The Capsule Hotel is a former oil rig survival pod moored in the Hague that comes with disco mirror ball, fairy-light decorations and silk-lined sleeping bags. What is a Capsule hotel? A Capsule hotel is a unique style of accommodation in Japan, inspired by the pursuit of efficiency of space and functional comfort, originating from the adaptive, creative spirit of the Japanese mind.
A typical Capsule Hotel is composed of two major sections; a public lounge space including bathing, and the other is a private space where the sleeping rooms (capsules) are arranged. The actual sleeping room is a capsule unit made of reinforced plastic and designed in the image of a jet airplane’s cockpit. In the capsule unit, all the required amenities are provided; TV, radio, alarm clock, adjustable lighting… almost everything is provided! Every device is within your reach and you can control everything in a sleeping position.

For the numerous business people working hard until after midnight and who miss their train, and for all the people coming to Tokyo on a short business trip, or holiday; young and old, men and women, a wide range of people stay at Capsule hotels in Tokyo. The Capsule Inn Akihabara is the best place to learn about the latest in
Japanese modern culture, direct from the people staying at our hotel!

Eco-Cave Resort

Cave Enthusiasts Will Like This New Eco-Cave Resort in India
There are Ice Hotels, Library Hotels, proposed Undersea Hotels, Hotels in Trees, on Boats and on Stilts. Hotels in Palaces, Farmhouses, and Tents.
But Guhantara may be a first: A subterranean cave hotel 20 kilometers outside India’s Bangalore City.
Everything at this fantastical resort represents the powers of the earth. The entire place is carved out of rock, including the rooms (decorated with modern-day versions of ancient cave paintings).
There are intricate murals, enormous pillars, lobby, dining area, twisty darkened pathways past decorated shrines, open-air swimming pools — all cut from rock.
The cave hotel sits on three acres belted by a natural stream. There’s still more water that trickles down the face of a massive rock into a swimming hole fed by rainwater. For air and sunlight, the resort has many natural roof openings.
The entire place runs on solar power, and treated wastewater feeds the trees and lawns that insulate the underground complex. And in every corner are plants of all sizes.
But is the Cave Man thing still popular? Those ads worked for Geico but the ABC comedy got canned. So only time will tell if the Cave Men Travel Trend will take off.

Treebones: The Big Sur Hotel That Nearly Wasn’t

The odd thing about Treebones is that the owners never intended to build a hotel or resort of any kind. They bought the land there to retire on, and then discovered that new planning laws prevented them from simply building a house. And gradually the idea of the yurts developed–because they didn’t want a “normal hotel”–and Treebones as we now know it, 16 simple wooden yurts and a lodge–came to be. As you curve along Hwy. 1 up the Big Sur coast, you can’t help but indulge in the fantasy of having your own piece of oceanfront property. While that dream only comes true for a few, the unique Treebones Resort, hidden at the south end of Big Sur, can give you the illusion of living on a private estate overlooking the Pacific, at least for a few moonlit nights.

Crane Hotel

If the thought of a romantic break makes your head spin with happiness, then the hotel to consider is the Crane hotel, in Harlingen, about an hour outside Amsterdam. The machine room of this dockside crane has been converted into a luxury love-nest for two, complete with luxury bathroom. Even though they’ve fitted a luxury double shower and designer loo, most exciting of all, you can still ascend to the crane drivers cab and spin the crane around and around! A fantastic breakfast is included, delivered magically via the internal lift to your bedroom. A dockside crane converted into a luxury hideaway for two.
Only an hour by car from Amsterdam, or by train direct to the dockside (Dokkade) station in Harlingen, the crane has been the recipient of intelligent engineering and dedicated devotion rarely seen in a private home – let alone in a hotel property. Replacing the external ladders with modern lifts to gain entry, the old machine room in the body of the crane has been transformed into a luxurious bedroom that would not be out of place in the most modern of design hotels.
It is an out of this world property - staying here guarantees you stories to tell your friends!
Managers, Willem and Carla have managed to keep the existing observation windows and industrial feel, but have added comfort, warmth and the latest flat screen and audio equipment to create a fantastic environment to enjoy a boyhood dream for many – your own personal, WORKING crane. Even though they’ve fitted a luxury double shower and designer loo the crane can still swirl around controlled from the comfort of the drivers cabin.
Arrive promptly, and take advantage of the view, as rain or shine, this is a spectacular vantage point to view the old docks. With a crane at you disposal, you’re sure to find yourself spinning the platform instead of watching the supplied DVD’s.

The Madonna Inn, San Luis Obispo, California, USA

Garish but great fun, The Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo is the mother of all themed hotels. It boasts 109 rooms, every one of them individually decorated. Try the Caveman Room, all rock and animal prints, or the Bridal Falls, which features a huge stained glass window and a massive waterfall shower. There is a room with a stuffed buffalo head hanging above the bed, and one with a miniature mill structure. The Madonna Suite is another extravagant option, although newly-weds might prefer the aptly named Just Heaven or Cloud Nine rooms. For those not staying, dinner in the completely over-the-top bright pink Steakhouse is the next best thing. Some of it is a bit dated now (the hotel opened over 45 years ago), and it’s not exactly what you would call good taste, but there is no doubt the designers had a ball working on this one.

1.Mykonos and the Cyclades, 76.1

Why?
The quintessential Greek islands: white sugar-cube villages; blue-domed churches; arid, rocky landscapes; turquoise Aegean; talcum-powder beaches.
Mykonos and Santorini, rock stars of the Cycladic Islands, with swank hotels and trendy restaurants.

2.Capri, 73.0

Why?
To live life on the edge at cliff-hanging hotels, bars, and Roman ruins.
Picking up a pair of custom-made capri pants and feeling Jackie O.
The refreshingly unstuffy La Capannina, where you can ogle A-listers as you sip your limoncello.

3.Sicily, 72.1

Why?
Spectacular ruined temples and theaters in the ancient Greek cities of Agrigento, Siracusa, and Segesta.
Palermo, with its picturesque, semi-crumbling palazzos, grand piazzas, and vibrant markets.
Bold, spicy cuisine served at seaside cafes and Michelin-starred restaurants.

4.Bozcaada and the Turkish Aegean Islands, 71.0

Why?

Without the euro (for now), Turkey is the Med’s best value.
Explore the coast aboard a private yacht.
Some say Istanbul, some Constantinople, but she’ll always be New Rome to us.

5.Mallorca and the Balearics, 70.7

Why?

Ibiza: enchanting pine-forested interior; cove beaches (And, yes, the clubs still rock).
Menorca: agriculture, peace, beaches (and ugly resorts).
Mallorca: old, pretty, now-hot-again standby.
Formentera: trendsetters, peace, beaches (nudist).

6. Madeira, 70.5

Why?

The island life, Portuguese-style.
Luxury hotels fit for royalty, and a golf course fit for UNESCO protection.
Sipping fortified Madeira wine in a seafood restaurant…at a table next to the fisherman who caught your main course.

7. Hvar and the Dalmatians, 70.3

Why?

Old world Mediterranean: Imagine the Greek islands 50 years ago—friendly, sleepy, and not yet commercialized.
Sleep in a 1,700-year-old palace and drink wine on ancient battlement walls.
That Adriatic water: 77 degrees and the blue of your dreams.

8.Sardinia, 68.9

Why?
Sardinia’s split personality lures some to its ancient ruins and quiet coves, others to its glittering marinas and epic dive sites.
Sardinia is not a mainstream Mediterranean destination but a sophisticated island set in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea.

9.Crete, 68.4

Why?
Chania’s old town, with its lovely mix of Venetian, Turkish, and Greek architecture.
Hiking the gorgeous Samaria Gorge, driven on by promise of that first cold drink at a taverna by the sea.
The palace at Knossos, an archaeological site that was already ancient when the Acropolis was just a bare hilltop.

9. Rhodes and the Dodecanese, 68.4

Why?
Rhodes’ Old Town, with its winding streets, medieval inns, and ancient temples.
Pristine beaches, eternal sunshine, and—from June to September—millions of butterflies.
The picture-postcard village of Lindos.

Big Ben

A wonderous an momentous icon of Britain. Along with Buckingham Palace, this is one of the outstanding features of the amazing London skyline that is known the world over. In my opinion, it is probably Londons best landmark.

Buckingham Palace

Buckingham Palace is a great sightseeing attraction and by now many of us in the world know about its beauty. This is truly what london is famous for, its an expansive space of a building and truly synchronizes luxury and beauty weaving it into somewhat like a tremendous fragrance. Its one of the queens summer/winter palaces and another must see is the change of the guard which usually happens at 10 40 am.

The Tower of London

It’s brilliant, your having fun and learning about the past at the same time, and when you think about all the people who were kept here/ lost their lives here for reasons which today seem very trivial you begin to see the sheer wonder of the place.
The crown jewels are very beautiful and sometimes its hard to belive that they are sitting in front of you!

Tower Bridge, Southwark

Tower Bridge is both iconic and stunning. Wonderful for locals and tourists, it’s a beautiful piece of architecture on London’s landscape.

Westminster Abbey

The outside has some of the most beautiful architecture. The inside has many burial places of famous british leaders, poets, scientists, and artists. It is elaborately decorated and of breathtaking historical significance. To be walking around such a historical building was awe inspiring. Don’t miss it.

London Eye

This is one of the best tourist attractions in London, although a clear day is sort of required so check the weather forecast first.

St. Pauls Cathedral

St. Paul’s is another “don’t miss it” sight. I suppose it’s really more than a “sight”: it’s a house of religion which seems to have transcended religion. The history of the site is overwhelming (there has been a cathedral to St. Paul on this site since 604 AD!). The current building (now 300 years old) has been recently cleaned, and is truly stunning. As others have commented, if you are up to walking a LOT of stairs, take the trip up to the top of the dome. The views from the outside of the top are unbelievable, plus you’ll be able to point out to friend and family where you stood. The outstanding efforts of Londoners to protect St. Paul’s during WWII should also be remembered. I also appreciate the American Memorial Chapel, which is dedicated to American service members, based in Britain, who died in WWII.

Hampton Court Palace

Hampton Court Palace is a top-notch place to visit. The palace and gournds are a wonderful combination of history, gardens, and general “entertainment” for both adults and kids. The Tudor connections are well-explained, and the Tudor kitchens are particularly interesting. Be sure to pick up the audioguide (included in the price of admission), as it will tell you all sorts of interesting things. Also consider joining one of the tours given by actors in costume, portraying a specific character. I’ve been four times, and will be back. (BTW, the admission price is quite reasonable, considering the wide range of things to see and do. You can easily spend half a day or more here.) If you have interest in history, palaces, art, or gardening, don’t miss Hampton Court. It’s easy to reach from central London via train (about 30 minutes).

“The Gherkin” (Swiss Re Tower), Southwark

This is an amazing building both inside and out, one lift takes you to the 36th floor where you get out and another takes you from the 36th and above. Elegant and sexy.
